16.4 – Birthstone – Challenge 4 of Project QUILTING season 16 For my 4th challenge I made a needle book. I'm a March baby and I love the color Aquamarine my birthstone but for some reason I could not find my aqua fabrics! I started to mine my stash and I found this aquamarine fabric I really love!  The inspiration for this project came from You Tube and the fact that  I had all of my hand sewing needles and supplies were just rolling around in a zipper pouch. It was overwhelming!   I watched a few tutorials one by Minki Kim another by Lori Holt and Stitchin Post  I used bits and pieces from each tutorial to make my own needle book .  I'm super happy with my result and after filling my needle book I decided I would like more pockets!   Cover and needle page Time to fill my needle book! Inside pockets Gathering supplies Fabric pulls Thank you for  visiting!

We started with piles of blocks in various stages of construction and we worked together bouncing ideas off of one another.  We tested colors and block layouts. It was like working on a puzzle. It was a challenge to figure out how the blocks fit together. We couldn't believe that we finished our tops on day one! It was a wonderful day! Thank you Nancy for coming up with a great idea of using leftovers! I set out to make a blue quilt but I ended up with a purple and pink quilt. I love it! I'm spotting Minnie Mouse's bow and shoes. I found Peter Rabbit yesterday when I was binding! There are little orange crabs.  It is such a pleasure to be surrounded by a truly scrappy quilt-I was so cozy under my new quilt! S...
