16.1 – Mythical Creatures – Challenge 1 of Project QUILTING season 16 It's back! Time for season 16 of Project Quilting. A big THANKS to Kim Lapacek and Trish Frankland for our first challenge, Mythical Creatures. Kim and Trish make the new year sew much fun! I look forward the challenges each year! For challenge one, I'm happy to share my "Gnomes all Around" table topper. It is 24x24" foundation paper pieced. I found this pattern in the Annie's Quilting book, Quilted Gnomes for your Home . The patterns author is Jennifer Thomas of Curlicue Creations. Trixie my cat approves of this weeks challenge! Thank you for visiting!

16.3 – Common Blocks – Challenge 3 of Project QUILTING season 16 I had so much fun with this challenge! I worked with my fellow Project Quilter and friend Nancy I. together we went through Nancy's collection of "left overs" or "orphan" blocks. We started with piles of blocks in various stages of construction and we worked together bouncing ideas off of one another. We tested colors and block layouts. It was like working on a puzzle. It was a challenge to figure out how the blocks fit together. We couldn't believe that we finished our tops on day one! It was a wonderful day! Thank you Nancy for coming up with a great idea of using leftovers! I set out to make a blue quilt but I ended up with a purple and pink quilt. I love it! I'm spotting Minnie Mouse's bow and shoes. I found Peter Rabbit yesterday when I was binding! There are little orange crabs. It is such a pleasure to be surrounded by a truly scrappy quilt-I was so cozy under my new quilt! S...
16.2 – Ombre – Challenge 2 of Project QUILTING season 16 This weeks challenge Ombre stumped me. I would usually use ombre as background for a collage quilt or something like that. This year my goal was more piecing. I had several false starts for this challenge. There was a very cool paper dolls idea that friends helped me brainstorm, another quilting friend gave her ombre fabric to work with. despite all of the support. I couldn't pull it together this week. I really loved the diamond shape and I thought that had a lot of visual interest. I should have stopped there. My challenge is an improved table runner 21:X36"? I loved the wild fabrics and that's about it! Thank you for Visiting
LOVE it! That flower blocks is super cool! Great piece!
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty floral quilt! Your PQ 13.6 could double as an entry for the 2022 TABLE SCRAPS Challenge, if you made it with scraps. The link party starts this Friday on my blog!
